Phil Kember

Phil Kember was born in London, England (1962). He emigrated to the US 30 years ago.

Phil's working life began as a professional musician at the age of 15. In 1996 he turned to photography, seeking a new hobby. In 1997 Phil signed with a New York based stock photo agency, by 2000 he had changed direction electing to work with traditional large format equipment, selling his car to purchase an 8x10 camera.

Over the years, Phil's work has been seen in numerous publications such as the Economist, National Geographic as well as being featured in Oregon, Nevada and National PBS TV broadcasts. Sky TV in Great Britian has also featured his work. In early 2009, Phil became an assistant to photographer Roman Loranc.

Phil lives in Nevada City, California.
