Join us on Friday, September 18 when local hero Jim Sanders will be in the Gallery from 5-8 pm, to sign his book, "Saving Lives, Saving Memories". Jim will share his exciting experiences and thrilling adventures during a short talk at 6 pm.

As told to local historian, Martha Loeffler, who is also expected to be here, "Saving Lives, Saving Memories" is the story of a 19 year old Ceres farm boy who drove an ambulance in the wake of Patton's Army during WWII. Jim and his ambulance went to Normandy six weeks after the D-Day landings and followed the advancing army across France, through Germany and into Czechoslovakia. He was one of the first ambulances into Buchenwald concentration camp.
