Jack Cassinetto
Jack Cassinetto, a native of California Gold Country, has spent much of his life painting the surrounding foothills. Jack’s love of Northern California landscape is reflected in the ethereal quality of his paintings.
Jack earned his B.A. from Sacramento State University in 1966 and received his M.A. in art from the University of Northern Colorado in 1972. He has painted landscapes in the distinctive, turn-of-the-century, California plain air manner.
Most of Jack’s work is done on masonite board with oils. He prefers to use antique frames and spends many hours scouring flea markets, garage sales and antique shops for them– at times he even carves his own frames to enhance the mood of a particular painting.
